Having spent just over a year in New York City, Emma's New York credits now include lighting designs for Lightning Strikes, InnerAct, The Town Hall, and Columbia Prep. In 2004, prior to her move from Buffalo, New York, Emma received the ARTVOICE Theatre Award for Outstanding Lighting Design for her work on the Buffalo United Artists production of Shakespeare's R & J. She worked extensively in Western New York for several years designing lights for a number of small professional theatres, including the Kavinoky Theatre (Book of Days ), Ujima Theatre Company (The Colored Museum, The Amen Corner ), Paul Robeson Theatre (Polk County, Ned's Garden ), and the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre (Mr. Benny ). In addition to her design work, Emma has served as a master electrician, set designer, and sound designer, and is currently Lightning Strikes' Production Manager. She was the Technical Director for three years with the Irish Classical Theatre Company under the artistic leadership of former Abbey Theatre members, and was the Resident Stage Manager for several seasons with Shakespeare in Delaware Park, the nation's second largest free outdoor Shakespeare festival. Emma is a graduate of the Theatre Department of the University at Buffalo.
